Sending marker signals from E-Prime2 to the VU-AMS
Hi, I would like to send marker signals from E-Prime2 to the AMS during the experiment. I have downloaded and installed the dll file in the same directory as the example E-Prime script, and can connect to the VU-AMS5fs from the VU_DAMS suite via the serial port. However, when I run the example E-Prime file, AmsSerialTest_AMSChoice.es, it gives me the following errors when I try to connect to the VU-AMS:
COM1:
Serial: O
Version: -1
Voltage: 0
MarkerMode ERROR
COM 2-5: Connection failure code=2
COM 6: In use (as far as I am aware, this is the one where the VU-AMS5fs is plugged in)
Do you have any idea what the problem may be and how I can correct it?
I am running E-Prime 2.0 on a Windows XP machine, and using a VU-AMS 5fs device (firmware version 19.0; hardware version 510).
Thank you,
Michelle

Re: Sending marker signals from E-Prime2 to the VU-AMS
Hi Michelle,
Thank you for posting such a detailed question.
I think VU-DAMS was still connected to the VU-AMS device, so COM 6 correctly reports to be in use.
Only one software program at the time (either VU-DAMS or E-Prime) can communicate with the VU-AMS device.
Best,
Jarik

Thanks Jarik, that was indeed the problem. If I close the VU-DAMS software after starting the recording, e-prime connects without a problem.
